People nowadays are worried about recession as many companies are laying off people. So, I was thinking on other ways to save money. Of coz, I’m not talking about opening new business right now, coz it’s all about spending money first. What if there’s no return and the money are being spent?

So, I thought of joining contests. Actually, if you observe closely, there are lotsa contests out there, either it’s big or small. I once read about an article about winning contests, the smaller contests it is or those held by not-so-big companies, the chances of winning is higher. If it’s those huge contests, everyone wnats to win it. There’ll be more people joining and the chances of winning is slimmer. So, do your own math!

You dun need to always just aim for big conest(winning big prizes), you could always start from small ones. It also depends, some are based on luck, some are based on efforts which you put in.

I’ve been tuning in to Fly fm(95.8) and there’s actually many contests held. I recently won myself 4 movie tickets to Marley & Me from Fly Fm. It took me by surprise as I was on the way to Genting and had nothing to do, so when I heard the queue to SMS and I sent in. Few minutes later they were still playign some songs on the radio and some one called my mobile and said :”Mei Chin, bark like on dog!” . I was totally shock, the number is unfamiliar, the person know my last name and he call me bark like a dog?! “Who the h*** is that?” This is all what I could think off. Eventually I said “wow wow” and he told me he’s Hafiz(Fly FM DJ) and I won the tickets. So, as easy as that! The sms cost me RM0.50 and I won RM40.00 worth of movie tickets, worth it right?

Besides movie, they’re also having a program called Wake Up your Brain by the Pagi show. It used to snowball RM100 each day if no one gueses the answer correctly, but right now they’re snowballing Rm500/day. WOW. It’s now RM10,200.00 . I managed to call in when it was RM6k plus but unfortunately my answer was wrong. I’ve been trying to call in since then but it’s always engage. Don’t waste your chance of repeating the wrong answers by checking out those listed here first.

Fly fm is also having a contest called Cash Call, when they start the queue to SMS, you type in CASH and send to 33399. Then you pray hard and hope you’re the lucky person whom they’ll call. BUT, if they call, you MUST answer the call by saying :”FLY FM, Malaysia’s hottest music.”, then you’ll win the cash, otherwise say bye bye to the money. If you got it wrong, the money will snowball till some one answers the call with that opening sentence.

The prizes are quite good. 10 finalist will get cash and also mobile phone.
