I was walking to a kopitiam at my neighbourhood one day and I cross by this menu by another restaurant which totally caught my attention.
The restaurant might just have too many caught mosquitoes and be creative by creating a dish out of it called Mosquito Rice. You know, we humans are always creative and eat whatever possibly we can from any creatures. But Mosquito Rice in Malaysia? This is the first time I heard about it. Oh yeah, did I mention it only cost RM4.50?
So, this is what I am expecting.

To my disappointment, it’s not a new dish. The chef is just being creative with the name only. Able to guess it? Scroll down for the answer and photo.
Now, do a direct translation of the word mosquito in Cantonese and add the word rice behind. This is what you get. “Man Fan” aka Mosquitoe Rice. For those who doesn’t know what dish is this, it’s usually a slimy sauce with eggs, fish cakes, carrot and some veges pourred on top of white rice.
