Yesterday my friends and I went to Cangkat Street to celebrate Hui Wen’s 24th XXth birthday. We were supposedly to leave house at 6.30pm but thanks to Chun Sin the driver who gave the excuse traffic jam and only fetch us at 7pm. Arghh… I wonder if he was really caught in the jam or at home grooming up.

Anyway, we went to The Magnificent fish & chips bar which they serve really AWESOME fish & chips. It reminds me of the fish & chips in Fremantle, Perth. Geez.. I miss that so much.

But the funny things is that their food menu have to check from the board on the wall and there’s so many types of fish for fish & chips.

So, we ordered Barramundi @ RM36.00.

Tarahiki @RM38.00. From my opinion, Tarahiki taste better than Barramundi. Barramundi smell more….more.. fishy.

Grilled Prawns with Lemon Butter @ RM36.00. These prawns are recommended by the waiter there and it’s really fresh and juicy. It comes with 5 prawns that makes it about RM11/prawns. Kinda pricey though coz it’s not super huge prawns.

Hm.. I forgotten what’s the name of this dish. Anywya, it’s RM36.00

Remember to dip the garlic bread in the sauce, it’s really nice!

The service is really good, we didn’t know that Tarahiki actually comes with salads instead of chips until the food is on our table. We requested to change to chips instead and they did! Cool. Then after while, one of the server of chef asked if we would like to have more garlic bread and those are actually FOC.

If you’re looking for a place with nice food+ comfy environment + special tea + mouth watering dessert then I suggest you to head on to Societea @ Kuchai Lama.

If you have insomnia, headache, stress and so on, you could ask the tea specialist to recommend the type of tea which can help to ease the pain.

After tasting all the hot and cold drinks, here’s the time to enjoy the food.

Starter of the night is Sauteed Sausage with Ikan Bilis (with Cili Padi) . The taste and texture of ikan bilis blends really well with the sausage and it’s a little spicy. I would say it’s a great combination!

Next up is the Shrimp Cocktail in Wasabi Mayo . The shrimps are pretty huge and fresh with just the right amount of wasabi mayo on it.

The last starter we had is Caesar Salad with a dash of Anchovy in Olive Oil.

If you’re a big fan of sandwiches or bugers then you should really try their Roast chicken Sandwich Coated with BBQ Sauce** comes with side salad. The toasted bun is filled with a deboned chicken thigh brushed with BBQ sauce (or you can choose honey lemon mustard). – RM10.90

Prawn and Fish Paste Mee Hoon Soup** is cooked in MSG-free stock with fresh prawns and qunelles of homemade fish paste. If you’re in the mood for noodle and MSG-free soup, then opt for this dish, it’s definitely healthier than any other noodle soup you have at the hawker stall. – RM8.90

Special Kampong Fried Rice with Sambal Sotong** is one of the dish you wouldn’t resist. The fried rice itself is tasty enough and it’s served with sambal sotong and crispy lil ikan bilis. This dish really helps open up your appetite! Yummy!!!

Next dish is totally my favourite – Black Pepper Seafood Udon (spicy)**. I can’t resist the black pepper taste with the springy udon. The black pepper is at the just right amount, so dun worry bout the spiciness. I think I wallop the most from this plate. I highly recommend this dish! – RM16.90

People usually would preferred Carbonara sauce for their pasta. If you’re one of them, then order Creamy Mushroom Pasta (Mushroom Carbonara). The pasta is fried till a lil dry but the sauce is not too thick, it’s creamy and cheesy enough. – RM13.90

If you’re not a big fan of cream based pasta or don’t want to have something too heavy, then opt for Aglio Olio with Prawns – flavoured with extra virgin olive oil, herbs and a sprinkle of paprika. This is one of my favourite as well – RM13.90

Pan-grilled Dory fillet slathered with Honey Lemon Mustard Sauce, (which is a blend of wholegrain mustard with honey and lemon juice). Hooray for this dish coz no salt or sugar added here so the dish is even good for diabetics. My dad has always worried bout his sugar level and intake, this is difinitely a good news for him.

Lamb Chop in Black-pepper Sauce** is also one of the chef recommendation dish. I dun eat lamb so I can’t comment much on this. – RM18.90

Another dish which I dun eat is Sirloin Steak in BBQ sauce. But from the looks of the dish, it looks darn tasty. From the expression of other bloggers who ate it, I should say, they pretty much enjoyed it! – RM25.90

Well fried on the edge and on the skin of the chicken yet the meat is soft inside that shower with brown sauce is hard to resist. Chicken Chop in Brown Sauce .

***** All the western food you can choose on your dressing with ‘Brown Sauce, Black Papper Sauce,Honey Lemon Mustard Sauce and all serving is served with creamy pan-roasted potato cubes + fresh garden salad *****

By the point we finish the main dishes, our stomach is pretty much filled up already. But then, there’s always room for desserts. There’s no way I gonna skip dessert in my life.

Imagine I can have each of this, fuiyoh, total shiockness! If only my stomach could fit it each of it! Each of it is priced from RM2-RM6.90.

Snow Fungus + Rose Sweet Soup** – Home made, unique in taste. This is not like those tong sui you can get anywhere.

Jasmine+Green Tea Mousse Cake** (rose-petalled melt-in-your-mouth mousse cake served with sliced strawberries and a cut-out chocolate heart. Green Tea base and top jasmine layer have a drizzle of rose and jasmine honey vinegar)

Cream Puff in Lavender and Blueberry Yoghurt**

Chocomarie Bar – looks like a brownie but the use of chopped marie biscuits with dark chocolate is to give it a lighter taste.

Chocolates. Most of us love chocolates, and 99% of all woman love chocolates, and some chocolate lovers would prefer chocolate over sex. Chocolate is one of the best food creation ever, it has such a wonderful taste and feeling eating it, especially when it melts in your mouth, and you taste the wonderful taste right through your toungue. In short, AaaaAAAaaa~~~ Chocolate is just wonderful.

Despite we describe eating chocolate as sinful, we just can’t resist it. A chocolate in front of us is just too tempting and seducing, there’s no way to escape it’s temptation and seduction. Maybe not for you, but that definitely happens to me, all the time.

On the new year eve of 2010, Kitty suggested to have dinner at Theobrama Chocolate Lounge at The Curve. At first I wasn’t convinced that eating chocolate is filling enough, chocolate is never enough for me, I’ll stop only if I feel guilty of eating it too much. But after Kitty’s persuasion, I gave in the idea of having a chocolate affair.

Looking through the menu itself had me a mouthful of saliva, there’s so many choices, chocolates, chocolates, and chocolates, different chocolate dish of coz. I had a hard time ordering a chocolate meal but finally I made a choice.

While waiting for our food, Nicole snapped a photo of my manicure, nice right? I totally love it! Thank you my dear sis for paying that for me.

I ordered Ms. Coco Frap, it’s a cuppa ice-blended dark chocolate. Yummy!

Nicole ordered for Hot Ms. Coco. I totally love the warm dark chocolate sensation passing through my throat, can totally taste the sweetness and bitterness of the dark chocolate itself. This is better than Ms. Coco Frap.

Kitty ordered for Strawberry Fruit Frappe. Having chocolate meal and strawberry drink is always a right choice, you dun feel too chocolaty.

Mr BF ordered Mushroom and Cheese Omelet. Okay, nothing to shout about for this dish, the cheese are too little to taste with the omelet according to Mr. BF, Kitty and Nicole. I didn’t even taste a mouth, I dun see mushroom bits inside too, but I bet I can cook better than that!

Kitty ordered for Spicy Ginger Fishcake Spaghetti. This taste kinda unique, it tasted like Penang Laksa! Maybe next time can try cooking speaghetti with Laksa soup.

Nicole’s Chocolate Chip Sultana Pancake. It’s a pancake with sultana filling, topped with whipped cream and drizzle with milk chocolate. A very nice combination!

I told you I love chocolate, and so I ordered something very chocolaty, it’s BelgianWaffle. It’s a crispy waffle with fresh strawberries, topped with a scoop of vanilla ice-cream and drizzle with loads of chocolate sauce.

I totally love this! Kitty is darn right about eating chocolate meal will be very full and stuffed. I can’t really finish my waffle. =\

Mr BF wasn’t satisfied with his omelet and decided to order another dish. So, he ordered for Thai Curry Chicken Pie. Unluckily for him, this didn’t taste too great as well.

There’s something that you shouldn’t miss in Theobrama Chocolate Lounge is their Chocolate Affair. It’s like a milk chocolate fountain lake, surrounded by kiwi, orange, strawberries and bananas (suppose to have marshmallow but it was out of stock).

All the while I thought chocolate and banana doesn’t taste great, I dun fancy chocolate banana cake so I thought it’ll taste awful. But after trying the banana dipped in the milk chocolate, WOW, it’s darn delicious! I couldn’t stop eating that, I think I hantam most of the bananas. Orange chocolate dip is nice too!

So, you wonder, what’s our total damage of our chocolaty meal. Here you go!

Okay, it seems kinda expensive for a chocolate meal, but we most of us enjoyed our meal (except Mr BF).

Geez… next time should snap the photo of me alone instead.

After our satisfying meal, we decided not to be squeezed like ham sandwich at The Curve due to the crowd there, so we headed to Public Grounds for Play located at Taman Tun for our New Year Eve celebration instead. This is not like any other public playground around the residential area, so, dun even think of bringing your underage sister, brother, baby, nephew, cousins, dog or your lovely pet there for a walk and play.

If you enjoy chit chatting, gossiping, or playing cards with your friends, then here’s the good place to enjoy the company of your friends. It’s not too crowded, and not too noisy. If it’s not your choice, you can always head to the pubs surrounding this place.

I love the ambience and settings of this place, they have very nice and unique looking chairs too.

It has also a huge Heineken Tower.

Nice place must of coz camwhore with a few pics.

Each table comes with a free party goodie bag, I think they only have that for celebrations.

We ordered for Around The World Bucket.

It comes 10 different bottles of beer from different countries.

I think Asahi from Japan tasted the best among all. There’s one of the beer which taste like shampoo or detergent, I couldn’t recall what is the name, we didn’t finish that bottle.

We played Chor Dai Di (Big 2) and those who loses have to drink 1 mouth, those who has 10 or more cards will have to drink 2 mouth. I always cheat when drinking, I kinda sip one small mouth each time, so my glass of beer never seems to be empty, and dun really need a refill.

By drinking the small amount, is enough to make me look blush again like a round red hot tomato. Oh gawd, help me pls~

Why can’t I still look as if I’ve never drink a mouth of beer?

Anyway, answer me this. Would you choose chocolate over sex?

The yellow and red coloured booth setup between The Curve and Tesco caught my attention the other day while I was heading to The Curve for some food. So I thought why not try this? I’ve never heard of Hot&Roll before this though. If you love to eat finger food such as Crepes and Roti Canai-like food, then head over to Hot&Roll for a new twist. They serves Crispy Wraps (a very thin cooked pancake made from home recipe flour mix) & Paratha Wraps in 16 flavours and also mini delicacies of more than 10 flavours all in finger sizes.

They’re having a special offer of 2 high protein meat sausages wrapped in wholemeal Chapatti + 1 cup 12 oz of HomeSoy Soya Milk at only RM5.90 (Normal price 9.30). If you plan to try their other food, you’s better share one of the sausage chapatti with your friend coz it’s kinda filling. I ordered one of this but I was too excited to try and forget to snap a photo of it. They added some raw chopped onions, one more ingredient which I’ve forgotten the name, chilli sauce and mustard into it too. Since I dun eat onions and mustard and I told them not to put in, my sausage Chapatti taste kinda like er… sausage + chaptti, get what I mean? Mr. BF’s sausage chapatti has everything and he said it taste good. So, I can’t judge much on this it’s up to you to comment on that.

For the Paratha, they have the savoury or the sweet type. The Savoury Paratha priced at only RM3.90 while the Sweet Paratha is priced at only RM2.90 and you may just add RM1.00 for extra toppings. I didn’t think that the Sweet Paratha would be nice so I ordered Savoury Paratha instead.

Mr. BF ordered for Chicken and Cheese Paratha. Again, I dun eat square peice type of cheese so I skipped that, didn’t even try a mouth. But if you’re a fan of cheese, just try this coz Mr. BF ordered that again the next time we went. I dun think he would have ordered that again if it doesn’t taste good, at all.

For myself, I ordered Satay Chicken Paratha. It’s really like the satay chicken you always eat with the stick replaced by Paratha instead.

There’s chopped raw onions, cucumber, satay minced chicken and satay sauce wrapped up with Paratha. The combination is just great and it leaves me craving for more!

The other time I went and I ordered BBQ Chicken Paratha. I’m quite disappointed they give those processed chicken meat, the ham type instead of unprocessed chicken meat itself. But anyway, nothing to shout about for the BBQ flavour.

Their cooking area. You get to sit right infront of them while they prepare your food. The place is clean and they are hygenic, so, no worries on that.

This is a franchised business and they have braches at Sunway Pyramid LG2.50, The Curve K-G17-W, Summit USJ KLG 12-01. I overheard that there will be a new branch at Pavillion too. Not sure if it’s open by now.

Anywya, I gotta agree that the Paratha itself is nice, I think it’s because of the texture itself but of coz you need some ingredients to eat with it. I still prefer Satay Chicken Savoury Paratha, that’s still my all time favourite! Nom nom nom~

If you’ve tried their other Parathas or their Crispy Wraps, leave me a comment on how’s the food like and I’ll try the next time I go.

Okay.. this is quite an overdue post, but since I’m talking about food here and if I dun mention when I went you wouldn’t even know. But anyway, it was actually to celebrate Kitty’s birthday (no, not a cat, nor a lady too, he’s a dude, a guy, a soon-to-be man) which falls on October(told ya! it’s overdue post). We were deciding whether to eat those À la carte style but eventually we opted for buffet instead which is Latest Recipe @ Le Meridien Hotel.

I didn’t hear of this place before till Nicole told me and sent me some link about it. Something which totally caught my attention was Teppanyaki Ice-cream. Yeah, you hear me right, Teppanyaki Ice-cream. How does one fry an ice-cream teppanyaki style without melting it? Teppanyaki plate should be hot right? You know, I’m quite a dessert freak and I’ll totally fall for it.

So, we followed GPS and finally we reach our destination.

#1 To the left or to the right? You choose.

#2 We were quite surprise when we enterred the lift. First time I see so many buttons in a lift, there’s 35 floors wey! See till my eyes @.@ .

#3 Finally we’re at Latest Recipe!

#4 Me taking picture at the entrance. =p

#5 One thing though to take note of is that the buffet price exclude drinks except sky juice. So, dun pandai-pandai order a lot of expensive drinks thinking it’s covered for.

#6 And dun think this is some kinda free lemon juice for you to drink, it’s for you to wash your hand k?

#7 We orderred for one Strawberry Lassi, one Pineapple Lassi and one Water Melon juice, EACH cost RM18.00.

#8 Let’s start of with healthy fresh greenish salads. Remember mummy always tell you to eat more greens?

#9 Some ham meat for your salad too.

#10 The dressing for your salads comes in a cute and creative packaging. I mean it’s in those tube bottle like your facial cleansers. It looks like Origin facial cleanser to me. If you put this beside a cleanser on my basin, I might have taken it to wash my face thinking it’s those 100% herbs facial cleanser.

#11 The olive oils and vinegar comes in test tube packaging. Very fresh ideas right?

#12 Further down you’ll see some local dish like Local Fresh Fruit Rojak, Stuffed Beancurd with Vegetables, some Kerabu, etc. I wasn’t too interested with those dishes.

#13

#14

#15 There are also Chinese food with Dim Sums.

#16 And the Indian Cuisine too. There were many dishes for the Indian Cuisine and all kinda keropoks. Yummy yum yum!

#17 Not to forget the Italian section too with Pasta counter. I orderred something like Seafood Carbonara minus the cheese. Yeah, I dun really like cheese,I hate cheddar cheese(I can’t stand cheddar cheese smell, how can you people even ask for extra cheese?!) but I love pizzas and lasagna. You know it’s different kinda cheese right? Err…nevermind, I’ll explain it next time. Anyway, how can I forget to snap a photo of it!!!

#18 They too have Japanese food as well. Of coz, when I say Japanese food, there are always Sushi rolls and Teppanyaki.

#19 With cactus look-alike design wasabi.

#20 The raw sushi. You just need to tell them your choice and they’ll prepare it for you.

#21 This octopus is really huge, looks amazing but kinda gross if you focus on the tentacles.

#22 If you’re really into raw, they have fresh mussels, prawns and oysters too.

#23 Fresh mussels

#24 Fresh Oysters

#25 The food which I love the most and remember how it taste the most was the Teppanyaki. They have a choice of cod fish, chicken, beef, prawns and scallops to choose from. I orderred a mixture of cod fish, prawns and scallops. Wah… I tell you hor, it’s really delicious and fresh! If not mistaken, they mix a little of mayonnaise with the Tepannyaki sauce too. Thinking of it now also mouthful of saliva.

#26 Seafood Teppanyaki.

#27 Close-up for you to see clearer.

#28 Check-out the cod fish texture.I’m feeling hungry now…

#29 There are also some cakes and kuih-muih. All very attractive looking but I din bother to taste even a bit coz I’ve saved my stomach space for ice-creams!

#30 More kuihs and cakes.

#31 Some yummy looking pasties.

#32

#33

#34 If you’re a fan of cheese, there’s quite a few varieties of cheese to choose from. One of the hightlights is the blue cheese.

#35 Finally my all time favourite – Desserts. Seriously, I can’t imagine a world without desserts, it’s like a greatest creation ever!

#36 The chocolates are placed on a spoon and nicely arranged sticking out like it’s screaming “Taste me! Taste me!“.

#37 Check out the chocolate fountains. Wow….look so beautiful~

#38 You have a choice of grapes, strawberries, marshmallows and even dates to dip into the yummy fountain.

#39

#40 There are also waffles available.

#41 This is like chocolate overdose waffles. Although I love chocolates, I got no idea how my friend finished this.

#42 Last but no least is the signature dessert – Teppanyaki Ice Cream. You have a choice of Vanilla, Chocoloate, Strawberry, Coffee, Green Tea and Coconut ice-cream to choose from.

#43 Then, you choose your preferred filling from the candy bar. There are about 42 types of fillings in the Candy Bar to choose from.

#44 The chef will use a flat teppanyaki steel scraper and “cook” your ice-cream on the icy cold tepan instead of the hot ones. Once it’s all mixed, the chef will scoop it to your cup and you may select your preferred toppings such as chocolate chips, chocolate rice, raisins, or others. There’s also strawberry, mango or chocolate sauce for the dressings too.

Just an advise, dun be too greedy and add loads of fillings to your ice-cream. Trust me, done that, ate that. It doesn’t taste good. Stick to the basic rule, simple is good.

#45 I tried the coconut ice-cream. It taste kinda refreshing. My favourite was chocolate chip + green tea ice cream with chocolate rice and chocolate sauce.

#46 Enjoy my ice-cream.

#47 Nice ice cream cup.

#48 I took the opportunity to cam-whore too. Hehe… eat ice-cream also wanna cam-whore. =p

#49 Cam-whoring with Nicole too.

#51 We go around pose here and there and take photo.

#52 Then we gals went around the hotel to cam-whore too. Paiseh paiseh. You know, gals ma!

#53 After the buffet, Mr. BF followed behind Kitty’s car for the way back. Somehow Kitty din realize that it was red light and he just drove off. We were kinda shocked coz dun think he usually does that, didn’t want to be left behind so we followed closely. DAMN! Mr Police drove on his white bike just drove out from the side and stopped right infront of us questioning why did we beat the traffic. So, I showed him this face.

And he let us go with no tickets.

.

Nolaz… I din exactly showed him that face but I put up a pitiful looking face and we explained that we didn’t know the way back and was following our friend, we were kinda lost and bla bla bla(we told the truth, really dunno the way back). Then I saw him checking out Mr BF’s newly bought car rim thinking ah crapz! He gonna give us the ticket adi. But eventually, he didn’t. He just gave us a warning and let us go.

How nice if always have such understanding Mr Police. Believe me, we really didn’t do that on purpose.

Bali is famous for it’s Babi Guling where the roast pork are stuffed with the home-made spices.

On the way there, there are some ongoing proyek, and we were forced to walk by the small roads to Warung Bali Guling Ibu Kota.

You’ll be very much surprised at the crowd there, it’s packed! As I can see, most of them are tourists, we were pretty lucky as we got a table after waiting just for awhile.

We were really in luck, once we sat on the table, there was a fresh Babi Guling which was just roasted and sent to the warung. Okay, dun stare at the whole Babi Guling for too long, you will feel disgusted, really. The expression of the pig is like it was grusomely murdered.

The workers, I’m not sure if she’s Ibu Oka, uses a big knife and beheaded the pig expressionless and emotionless, these are really by years of experience I believe. I dun think I could even chop off a chicken’s neck. Then, she uses the knife to pick up the head of the pig and poses for the camera.

The pig have been roasted till crispy golden brown colour. My god, look at that tail, the more I look at it the more I feel disgusted with it.

After the head been chopped off, you can see the spices inside of the stomach area.

The pork will then be chopped and to be served to customers.

We were waiting patiently for our plate of Babi Guling. Can’t wait to taste how nice it is.

The prices of a plate of Babi Guling are roughly about Rp25,000 ~ Rp30,000(RM8.90~RM10.54) depending on what you order. The once I ordered is served with a piece of the roasted pork skin, some very tender pork meat, fried pork fats, and some vegetables with the spices of Babi Guling on top of it.

The portion here looks small cause I shared a plate with Mei Yin and I just took half the portion of it. I couldn’t finish a plate not only because I have taken some food at Sukawati earlier, but also because of staring at the whole pork earlier for too long. I tried not to think too much, chucked everything into my mouth, chewed it fast and swallowed it.

In my opinion, the Babi Guling is totally overrated. From what everyone have said how famous and nice it is, I think it’s just so-so only, the skin was not even cripy, it’s quite chewy(Not sure was it just that pork, my piece of pork skin or was it actually meant to be like that). On our first bite, we have already thought of the Char Siew Siu Yoke Fan at Hock Lee, Damansara Heights. But anyway, since it’s so famous, just go and try it, at least make it like once in a lifetime experience.

There are quite a few dogs around the warung. I guess it’s because it has good business there (as in many tourists feed them)

This is one pitiful looking grey dog layign around just outside of the warung.

There is also tiger-wannabe dog.

Both tiger-wannabe dogs were fighting for territory.

I also bought a bottle of Passion fruit flavoured drinks by Mizone from the store beside Warung Babi Guling Ibu Oka, you should try this. It’s quite nice and refreshing.

Our initial plan was also to try Bebek Bengil at Dirty Duck Diner, unfortunately we were so stuffed that we decided to put a stop. I kinda regret of not trying Bebek Bengil, I heard it’s really nice, much nicer than Babi Guling and it’s really crispy.

On the way back to our car, I spotted this creative looking van. It’s a van with bus entrance styled entrance, I repeat, it’s a van. It’s quite a common design over at Ubud as I saw quite a few van vehicle with the same entrance.

Did they design this by accident? As in accidental design discovery?

No, I’m not done with my Bali post yet, I’m just lazy to sort the photos out. ^.^

Here I am now, continuing my Bali post.

On the second day at Bali (24th July 2009), it’s time for jalan-jalan at Bali after taking our complimentary breakfast from the hotel. I’ll skip exactly where we’ve gone after that, not so important afterall, I’ll get to that after all the important points.

So, we went to Sukawati where it is famous for incredibly cheap stuff. I think I can spend my entire day there, not only because there are like zillion things to see, but oh-my-gosh, the people kinda “haunt” you there.

Once you step your foot at the urh..I consider it a marketplace, you will see a group of people storming to you like groups of fans seeing their favourite artist. Remember, you are not an artist there, but more like a choi-san-yeh(money god). All of them carrying their stuff on their hand and on top of their head persuading you to buy stuff from them, I find it quite a haunting experience. They will follow you wherever you go although you have tell them you are not interested.

Okay, one of the lady managed to persuade me to buy a white knitted hat. Not exactly that she persuaded me, but I find the hat quite nice and incredibly cheap! If I recall correctly, the open price she gave me was like Rp40,000 (RM14), Mr. BF managed bargain to only Rp20,000 (RM7). Wow, that’s like half the price! I bet if I get the hat in Malaysia, it gonna cost me about RM20.00 at least. By the way, behind me is a stall which sells their local fruit called Salak.

After buying this hat, another lady approached me and Carryse for a hat. I was like hey! I have already bought a hat. Guess what she told me? She told me to get another hat. My gosh, why would I need two same hat?

Carryse is even better at bargaining, she got the same hat at only Rp14000 (RM5). I really have no idea how do they earn money there.

You can see lotsa nice and great paintings there, I mean those people are like so talented! Too bad they are all cramp up there. I’m not exactly a person who is into painting but after seeing theirs, I just gotto get myself one.

Besides paintings, you can see them crafting some designs out.

We then took a light lunch over there too. My friends are like so crazy over the Bakso(beef ball) there, most of them ate two bowls. It cost only Rp5000 (RM1.80)/bowl. But I find it quite small bowl.

See the difference of size of the beef balls? The HUGE one a little different, there is a whole hard-boiled egg inside of it. I don’t eat beef, so don’t ask me how nice it is. I only tested the noodle and a little of the soup, but I could tell, it’s tasty!

Dun play-play, this dog is smoking. See the cigarette at it’s mouth?

Nah, of coz he is not smoking, it’s just some camera angle. But his is one lucky dog at Sukawati. Hm..I should say dogs around me while I’m eating are all lucky dogs coz I can never resist the pitiful puppy-eyed looks of them. Mr. BF ordered two bowls of Mie Bakso too, but 3/4 of the Bakso is fed to him, I only wanted to eat the noodles and Mr.Bf only wanted to try a little bit of Bakso. Byt the way, I call him Blackie ( I just thought of a name for him, Urh… I think it’s a him lah okay?)

I also tried their Indonesian Rojak which they call it Ketoprak. It is quite similiar to Malaysia Rojak, it has veges and tofu, but they added nasi impit and the keropok used is different. It cost Rp5000 (RM1.80). But nothing to shout about, I’d still prefer the Rojak at the roadside of Taman Tun.

Oh yeah, not to forget, you can Pie Susu at one of the shops at Sukawati at only Rp1000 (RM0.35). It’s similiar to egg tarts, but it’s condensed milk instead of eggs, and it is really thin.

I’m a fan of condensed milk, so I kinda like it, but I would think it will be much nicer if it is thicker. It’s worth trying, really. Where can you get a tart at only RM0.35?!

I think I wanna start Google searching for Pie Susu recipe already!

After my arrival at bali, we headed to Kuta beach just metres away from our hotel which is about 10~15 minutes walking distance (depending how fast you walk also la).

From far, you can already judge how strong the wave is. No wonder that Bali is famous for surfing, it’s considered one of the surfing paradise. You can actually see many mat saleh bring their surfing boards there and strut their stuff. There’s just too many reasons to mention why we love the beach.

Oh, not to forget. Bikini gals by the beach, specially those sun-tanning ones.

From far, the wave somewhat looks like a mini tsunami. Please dun commit suicide. Go save yourself, swim and run for your life.

oOooooOoo..sexy laydeh!

Nice wave~

Check out the reflection on the beach. It’s really nice like a painting.

We spotted this flag but I got no idea what flag is this. Doesn’t seem to be Indonesia flag coz Indonesia flag with just red and white. Can anyone tell me what flag is that?

If you see on the beach itself, you’ll see lotsa holes with a small little creature moving. If you take a closer look, here it is. A tiny lil crab!

Awhile later we took a cab and headed to Jimbaran beach for a seafood dinner by the beach. Sounds nice right? It is really nice as it sounds! There’s no reason for you not to love this!

See the ocean behind me? The feelings of having this dinner is just too satisfying! You get to enjoy the food while looking at the ocean and listen to the sound of the wave. Your stress level will certainly decrease, we should have this in Malaysia. I’m sure it’ll be a demand.

Bintang is really a star in Bali. You see most people drinking Bintang there coz it’s almost half the price compared to other beer.

I ordered for a coconut for my drink. It’s huge!

The airport is just kinda right beside us. Fantastic! We could see the plane landing even from our table. Jimbaran beach is a little different from the Kuta beach. Here, you can see lotsa lil sampan around, I guess they use it for some fishing here.

Of coz, there’s not only one restaurant there, there are like about 5~10 restaurants there. See the amount of people? Dun play play.

My friends have earlier on went to choose the seafood for the chef to cook, so, while waiting for our main dishes, we spotted the stall which sells jagung bakar (baked jagung). They sell 3 types of flavour which is sweet, salty, and spicy.

I ordered for the spicy jagung cuz I’ve never tried that in my life before. I tell you hor, it’s superbly yummy! You feel the crunchiness and juiciness accompanied by the spiciness in each bite. Oh gosh,it’s making me craving for more now! Too bad I can’t find it here. Anyone knows where to spicy jagung bakar here? =(

Not long later our main dishes has finally served.

1.4kg Red Snapet @ IDR 140,000 (RM49.70).

1.0kg Garoupa @ IDR100,000 (RM35.50).

Free Vegetables. It’s refillable.

Free Rice too.

Look at the amount of people having dinner by the beach there!

We spent IDR826,000 (RM293.23) on the dinner, excluding jagung bakar.

Oh yeah… Not to forget there are a group of people who sings table by table and ask for some donation.

They sang a song and Mr. BF requested for one more song which is Rasa Sayang.

When they finished the song, they asked for donation and Mr BF paid IDR2000. While giving the donation, Mr. BF requested for one more song, the dude saw the amount of donation and ignored us and faster move to next table. LOL. We’re just too kiam-siap. Tell me, how much would you donate?

Another birthday celebration and this time is my mum’s. She hinted us(sis and me) that she wanna eat Japanese food. I seldom eat Japanese food though but there’s a few places that came across.

- Jogoya
- Rakuzen
- Shogun
- Tenji

It was a weekday, so going to Jogoya or Rakuzen is totally out of the mind.
- Jogoya
- Rakuzen
- Shogun
- Tenji

The last time I ate at Shogun was like a nightmare, thank god it was paid by company, I just took 1 plate with just a few pieces of food and I stopped, my colleagues felt the same.
- Jogoya
- Rakuzen
- Shogun
- Tenji

Read on the blog review of Tenji, it wasn’t so good, nothing to shout about. So…
- Jogoya
- Rakuzen
- Shogun
- Tenji

Then, my sis’ friend recommended Kura @ One World Hotel saying the food is nice. So, went to do some research(blog review) of the food there, seems nice, and ZOOM! There we are at Kura @ One World Hotel.

I was busy snapping photos outside, my parents and sis went in first. Then, when I went in, it felt like a maze… The design is kinda confusing, there’s left, right, straight, back…Urh….Where to turn to my table? =.=”"

Ahh…that’s our table with window view!

So, time to look at the menu and order. Sigh…everything looks delicious..how to order?! I have this problem of making up my mind or decisions… really… I ended up not deciding anything and let my sis make the choice.

So, sis orderred 1 plate of soft soft shell crab with 2 teishoku(set dinner)

Wanted to order this also coz it looks nice. I like the design.

You know, people always take pictures of how nice is the view from their table. So, I decided to take one too. LOL. All I can see is just cars, cars and cars stucked in the traffic jam. How nice that we avoided those and ate at somewhere nearby and looking at those people stuck in the jam with frustration.

Nothing much to see anyway, no cars accident, nothing extreme to see. So, why not take some pictures?

It comes with warm towel for you to wipe……. your hand of coz. Dun tell me you wanna use it to wipe your face @.@.

The first dish is Soft Shell Crab @ RM25. It’s one plate with 2 crabs. It wasn’t fried till like super oily(I’m sure you’ve tried many super oily friend soft shell crab before and yucks!). Nice!

You still can feel the texture of the crab meat in the middle.

Oh yeah, we orderred 2 garlic fried rice. It was just a simple fried rice of garlic, rice and eggs with pepper, together with fried garlics on top. But OMG…the fried rice damn nice! Sometimes, simple things are the best. Back to basic.

Then, there goes our 2nd dish – Kura Maru Bento(Sashimi, Sushi, Unagi Kabayaki, Tempura, Sunomono, Nimono, Chawanmushi, Salada, Miso Soup) @ RM85 .

The small piece of white carrot is to be dipped into the soy sauce.

Yummy yummy~

At last, the final dish arrived – Rokkaku Bento(Chirashizushi, Yakimono, Tempura, Sunomono, Nimono, Chawanmushi, Salada, Miso Soup) @ RM75.

It was really worth it, food is nice, portion is BIG! Did I mentioned that 4 of us almost can’t finish what we’ve orderred? Thank god we wasn’t too greedyto order the Dragon Roll, otherwise sure can’t finish.

Pity lil pricess Soukeiguai can’t follow for the nice food. Dun you think she looks like a stuffed toy doggie?

Birthday aka Burfday – The day which a person is welcomed on the earth with never ending life experience to gain from birth -> baby -> kid -> teenage -> post-teenage -> adulthood -> old. It’s also the day which we celebrate yearly (except those born on 29th Feb), a day we celebrate that we are one year wiser, a day we celebrate to a new year of our life.

I love attending burfday parties, it’s not just because of the food, it’s because you get to get together with your friends, for some which you may have not seen for months, years, ages… It’s a good time to catch up.

My bestie’s birthday party was planned kinda last minute, it’s scheduled at 6pm @ her house for a BBQ party. Needless to say, Malaysian time is actually GMT+8, but when it comes to birthday parties and wedding dinners, it’ll automatically changed to GMT+10, or perhaps GMT+11. It’s always delayed from what have been scheduled.

Kit Siang, Nicole and me was the earliest to reach, which was at 7pm. Since there was no one around yet, we kinda cam-whore a little.

The food to be BBQ-ed. Yummy yummy but it doesn’t look too appetising before grilling.

Yen’s bf – Wei Feng is also the chef of the night. He spent his entire night grilling the food for us. Because there was too many of us, once we know that the food is ready, we’ll take our plates and run towards him to grab a few pieces before the next grilled food is ready. We wanted the food to have more burnt, you know, taste nicer. TQVM Wei Feng for the grilling effort. =)

It just taste soooooooooooooooooooo good, as requested, more burnt. Yummy~

If you observed well enough, you may have seen the food or him before. It’s because he owns a stall called Grill-zilla at Kota Damansara. Have you visited there yet?

Together with Kok Wai – the lengchai pastry chef (Edison Chen lookalike, dun misunderstood, no sex scandals involved)with VERY EXTREMELY SMALL appetite and kit siang.

I managed to persuade force him to eat more than what he wanted to eat. I felt so proud *applause applause* But I wonder, if he went back and do more cardios after the party. Kok Wai, you’re a dead meat the next time you come out makan with us. I’ll find ways to force you to eat more, I just couldn’t stand the fact that you as a guy eat lesser than me. You bake nice pastry but still stay so slim and fit. I wonder does you even eat your own pastry you bake? =p

Yen Teng concentrating hard on a game while Edmund look on while enjoying his food. Btw, haven’t seen Edmund for so long and he have a nice toned buff body now. Nice!

The chef of the night finally took a break to enjoy the nicely grilled food he grilled.

After food of coz it’s the photo session.

Yen’s primary school friend.

Yen’s secondary school friends.

The burfday cake made by Kok Wai. It’s a cheesecake with apriocots and mango jelly in the middle and decorated with sweet strawberries and sunflower on top. Oh boy, it was beautifully done but due to unforseen circumstances happened and he had to remove it.

So, it ended up looking like this.
